Fitting New Lights
Checkout our blog article on the do's & don't of fitting additional driving lights.
Why choose LED driving lights?
Fixing LED Lights
Before purchasing your new lights you need to put some consideration into how you are going to install them, such as using a mounting bracket. Many driving lights, particularly LED driving lights for utes, caravans and 4x4 spotlights, are subjected to constant vibration, which puts strain on the bracket and can lead to failure.
We recommend only using sturdy materials such as steel. We stock a great range of Mounting Brackets which can be used to fix various points such as roof racks, bull bars, rear bars and caravans.
What to look for when choosing LED driving lights
LENSES
LED spotlight lenses come in various shapes and sizes, for example round, square and hexagonal. Common lens materials include plastic and silicone. Therefore some are rigid and some are flexible. Lenses are designed for use with single or multiple LEDs. This includes LED modules or strips.
They sit over the LEDs to create the desired lighting effect. Various properties of LED lenses enable precise control over the beams of light. LED lenses can also offer a nice aesthetic appearance by masking the LED components within.
REFLECTORS
LED Reflectors are the part that sit over the LED bulb to alter the way the beam of light is presented. However, they do not offer as much control as LED lenses. Reflectors are made using plastic and can be metal coated.LED reflectors are smooth or multifaceted inside and come in various different shapes, such as LED lightbars, LED 4x4 Spotlights and Round Driving Lights.
