The early GU Patrol wagon is a serious long-range tourer, with coil springs at both ends and plenty of axle travel. After more than two decades on the road, though, most of these wagons are sitting low on sagging coils with worn-out dampers. This EFS kit gives a Series 1 GU wagon (built before February 2000) a fresh set of raised coils and matched shocks front and rear, lifting it by about 50mm and restoring the composed ride it is known for.
Castor correction bushes are included for the front radius arms, bringing steering feel back in line once the front is lifted. Pick a shock series and the spring rates that suit how your Patrol is loaded.

Elite
A comfortable all-rounder for a GU used as a family tourer or weekend four-wheel driver. Elite shocks soak up broken bitumen and gravel without making the big wagon feel floaty.
- 35mm bore twin-tube design
- Hardened chrome piston rod
- Valving matched to the raised EFS coils
XTR
The step up for long outback trips and heavier loads. The larger shock body carries more oil, so damping stays consistent on hours of corrugations.
- 40mm bore twin-tube design
- More oil capacity than the Elite
- Suited to touring, towing and regular off-road use
Front Load Options
- 0-50kgs: factory bumper or a light front setup. Rated for up to about 80kg of front accessories.
- 100-150kgs: a steel bullbar or a bar fitted with a winch, rated for a constant 80-120kg up front.
Rear Load Options
- 0-150kgs: everyday driving with light gear in the cargo area.
- 300kgs: a constant touring load such as a drawer system, fridge, water and camping equipment, or a rear wheel carrier.
