Brown Davis 130 Litre Poly Replacement Long Range Fuel Tank for Isuzu D-MAX (2020–Present)
The Brown Davis 130 Litre Poly Replacement Long Range Fuel Tank (ISD20R1P) is a purpose-built, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) fuel tank designed specifically for the Isuzu D-MAX (2020–Present). Engineered and manufactured in Australia by Brown Davis — the country's most trusted name in long range fuel solutions since 1978 — this poly tank offers a significant weight saving over its steel equivalent while still delivering a substantial increase in fuel range.
Replacing the factory 76 litre tank with the ISD20R1P brings your total capacity to 130 litres — a 71% increase — without requiring any vehicle modifications. The tank retains the standard filler point and is designed to reuse the vehicle's original fuel pump sender assembly, keeping the installation clean and straightforward.
For fleet managers, tradies, and drivers who primarily travel on sealed or semi-sealed roads, the poly tank is an excellent choice. Its lighter weight reduces the overall load on the vehicle compared to a steel equivalent, making it particularly well suited to payload-sensitive applications. Available at Brixton 4x4, the ISD20R1P is backed by Brown Davis' 3-year manufacturer's warranty and comes complete with all parts and hardware required for installation.
Fits: Isuzu D-MAX (2020–Present) — All 4WD Models | Single Cab, Space Cab, Crew Cab | SX, LS-M, LS-U, X-TERRAIN | 3L Engine
Step-by-step DIY installation instructions with photographs and diagrams are included with every tank.
Why Choose the Brown Davis Poly Long Range Fuel Tank?
Brown Davis manufactures both steel and poly long range fuel tanks, giving customers the right option for their specific use case. The poly tank is the ideal choice for drivers who spend the majority of their time on sealed or well-maintained roads and for whom weight savings are a priority. On average, poly long range tanks are 10–15 kg lighter than their steel equivalents — a meaningful saving for payload-sensitive vehicles and fleet applications.
For drivers regularly tackling serious off-road terrain, rock crawling, or remote outback tracks, the steel ISD20R1 may be a more suitable option. If you're unsure which tank is right for your application, please contact our support team.

Comprehensive step-by-step DIY fitting instructions with photographs and diagrams are included with every tank. The following is a general overview of the installation process.
1. Unpack the tank and verify all components, hardware, and fitting instructions are present before beginning.
2. Safely raise and support the vehicle to gain access to the underside and the factory fuel tank mounting location.
3. Drain any remaining fuel from the factory tank and disconnect all fuel lines, sender wiring, filler tube, and breather lines.
4. Remove all factory tank mounting hardware and lower the original tank from the vehicle.
5. Transfer the factory fuel pump sender assembly to the Brown Davis poly tank — the ISD20R1P is designed to reuse the vehicle's original equipment.
6. Offer up the Brown Davis tank to the mounting location, align all bracket points with the vehicle's existing fixings, and hand-tighten the mounting hardware.
7. Reconnect all fuel lines and secure using the supplied hardware to prevent kinking and damage.
8. Connect the filler tube to the vehicle's standard filler point — no filler neck modifications are required.
9. Torque all mounting fasteners to specification, inspect all connections, and check for leaks before refuelling and driving.
