LDV T60 Bull Bar and Accessory Guide: Fitment, Recovery Points and Wiring

The LDV T60 has built a loyal following among Australian tradies and tourers who want serious ute capability without the premium price tag. Fitting a bull bar is usually step one, but the T60 has been through enough changes over the years that fitment, recovery point ratings, and wiring compatibility all need a closer look before you buy.

This guide covers what fits the original T60 versus the later T60 Max and Max Plus, what "rated recovery points" actually means for your recovery gear, and how wiring and lighting integration works across the range.

T60 vs T60 Max/Max Plus: Know Your Model First

LDV significantly updated the T60 lineup from 2022 onwards with the Max and Max Plus variants, which changed the front-end structure enough that bull bars are not interchangeable between generations. If you're ordering a bar, rear bar, or underbody protection, always confirm whether your T60 is the earlier 2017–2021 model or a 2022-onwards Max/Max Plus before checking out.

What "Rated Recovery Points" Actually Means

A rated recovery point is engineered and load-tested to a specific rating, so it can safely be used with a snatch strap, winch, or shackle during a recovery. This matters because not every mounting point on a vehicle — or even every point welded to an aftermarket bar — is designed to handle recovery loads. When a bull bar lists "rated recovery points included," it means those points have been engineered for that purpose, rather than just bolted on for looks. Always match your recovery gear (straps, shackles, snatch blocks) to the rating of the point you're using, and never exceed it.

Wiring & Lighting Integration

Both T60 bull bars above come with integrated LED lighting — daytime running lights, fog lamps, and indicators — pre-wired into the bar itself, which keeps the wiring loom tidy and avoids running separate aftermarket light wiring through the engine bay. Winch-compatible models also include winch lever access, so you're not pulling the bar apart to operate a manual winch release.

If you're after tailgate convenience to match your accessory build, the HSP Tailgate Remote Central Locking kit for the T60 Max and T60 Mega lets you sync your tailgate lock to your factory remote, so it locks and unlocks with the rest of the vehicle — a straightforward wiring-based upgrade that pairs well with a bull bar and canopy build.

Rear Bars & Underbody Protection

Where to Start

If you're building out your T60's protection and recovery setup from scratch, this is the order that avoids the most common mistakes:

  1. Confirm your exact model — original T60 or T60 Max/Max Plus — and your build date before ordering anything.
  2. Choose a bull bar with rated recovery points if you're planning any off-road recovery work, and match your recovery gear ratings to it.
  3. Check winch and lighting compatibility if you're planning to add a winch or auxiliary lighting later, so the wiring provisions are already there.
  4. Round out with a rear bar and underbody protection for touring, towing, or regular off-road use.

Browse the full range in our LDV T60 collection or the wider underbody protection range. Hamer 4x4 backs its T60 bull bars with a manufacturer's warranty — you can read the full terms on the Hamer 4x4 warranty page.
